Some spoilers ahead...Oh Nikki.

Okay, first, Hurray all her books on on Amazon in e format!

But alas, this was the one book she could of written that I didn't want to be a novella or so short and it did indeed feel rushed. So lets get to it, Julianna was the ward that Stevens wife was coming for. That didn't happen obviously if you read that story. So Julianna is this writer and independent thinker because of her grandmother. He grandmother passes away but our h has lived on in the simple life ideals of her.

Unfortunately for her, her mother is atrocious. Downright awful. Forcing a marriage, forcing her way into the ton, etc. Everyone hates the mom and Julianna couldn't give two cows, she wants to write, live small off her inheritance in London. Her mother uses Julianna to buy a season. I felt bad for her here she really thought she was going to escape. Alas, her Mother does everything she can with the connection Julianna has to the Westmorelands to trudge her way into the ton. It doesn't work, they HATE the mother. Honestly with good reason.

At the last week of the season, Valerie (Nikki our H's on again off again widow mistress) hosts a masquerade and Julianna attends and comes up with the idea of getting herself ruined. She meets Nikki in a maze, etc, he accepts, and it all falls apart. She changes her mind, runs out, right into her Mother and an audience. Well of course Nikkis the most wanted man in England so her Mothers thrilled.

So you can imagine....this is early England above all. Not only will Julianna be ruined, so will Nikki be called into question over being a gentleman. So....he marries her. Its awful, hes awful. Shes heartbroken. Its a disaster.

Heres where this short book disappoints. JM puts a lot of time into one chapter telling us what comes next, how awful Nikki treats her, he basically dumps her off at his estate and doesn't even consummate the wedding. Hes just horrid. I know right? Our Nikki from the other books? No way, this just couldn't be what I was reading, it didn't feel right for his character.

Fast Forward three months of being deserted, its Christmas, his mothers in ill health, they spend a week together pretending to be a happy couple for her sake, although we don't get to hear much of it, because again this is a fast book, and then his intention as soon as the parents leave is to desert her AGAIN. Good god.

So she gives him as a gift some letters, like a diary, that she had continued writing to her grandmother, and alas youll have to read them and see what happens, but its all over quite quickly. I wont leave the ending.

But I will say this, THAT was where the book SHOULD of started. In fact after getting thru all of that I could of read at least another 100 pages to find out exactly how that epilogue actually got to that point! All right mini rant over. JM is one of my all time favorite authors, Almost Heaven and Kingdom of Dreams are books I go back and read again and again. I wasn't crazy about Stephon and Clayton Westmoreland, but I was all about Nikki in those books so you can imagine my vast and utter disappointment for his story and my longing for how much better it could of been. He deserved a full length novel. So I would tell you going into this book, its not. 4 stars obviously because of the writing and the period history is spot on. But oh, Ive never had a book read where I just wanted so much more!

Miracles The Westmoreland Dynasty Saga Book 4 edition by Judith McNaught Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews

This was just too short and incomplete to be the ending that the fabulous Nicki would get. I love the two of them together, it no where near enough time is spent developing their relationship and letting us see them fall in love. With all the love Nicki has shown in the other stories, I really wanted his to be epic. I was very disappointed to not get a chance to “catch up” with Whitney and Clayton and Sheridan and Stephan in any way. And very disappointed that the charming Therese is not mentioned nor are the rascal brothers of the heroine. This was a huge missed opportunity for a great story and deserved more than the hour of time that was apparently devoted to writing it.
Be still my beating heart! Can there be any better surprise than to learn Judith McNaught, the queen of romance, has released all her romance novels on ebook? Ms. McNaught is my favorite romance author and that is saying a lot considering I have read romance novels for four decades.

You bet I snapped up "Miracles," a Regency romance novella. And what a novella this is as it continues the Westmoreland Dynasty saga that we began with "Whitney, My Love," "A Kingdom of Dreams," and "Until You." It picks up with the story of Nicki du Ville who we first fell in love with in 'Whitney My Love."

I won't give away spoilers but I loved "Miracles" as I love all of Ms. McNaught's books and I bet you will too.

To read a Judith McNaught book is like falling in love for the first time.
Too short. I really feel Nick deserves a full book where is his sister? How come his wife is so undefined? Where are her brothers? Not Ms. Knight's best efforts. The prior books hooked me and I was sorry they ended....
I’d love to give this zero stars. I love all of Ms. McNaught’s Westmoreland stories. She proved with her early novels that she could tell an expansive, romantic tale unlike any other. When I saw that she had told Nicki’s story, I couldn’t wait to read it. I realized by the price that I was getting a novella, but it took me all of 15-20 minutes to read it. It wasn’t long enough even for an anthology. Huge gaps in the storyline. Two minutes of tension. No time for real romance. Seriously, this was shocking in its brevity and lack of substance. I wouldn’t be surprised if you told me she wrote in an hour. Believe me when I say that a much less established author could have written it an hour. Nicki DuVille deserved so much better. As two comparisons, take Mary Balogh’s final Huxtable book, A Secret Affair, telling the story of Constantine, or Madeline Hunter’s Dangerous in Diamonds, bringing two recurring characters, Castleford and Daphne, together. (Seriously, read that series and luxuriate in the Castleford plot line.) They got their own stories, not a little snippet of “they meet, they marry, they don’t see other for three months, they see other, all is well”. I’m serious. Nothing on the three months, NOTHING about the time they spent together at Christmas, just a mention of it, and they’re saying I love you. With no leadup or reasons. I’m so disappointed.
I loved the Westmoreland Series, Whitney, My Love was actually the first historical romance novel I've ever read so this series has a special place in my heart. That being said, I was disappointed that Nicki du Ville wasn't given the story that he deserved. This was just too short and not enough for a character who played a very prevalent role in two of the stories in the series. The only reason I really knew the characters was because I read about them in the previous books. I really felt that Nicki and Julianna deserved more than a novella and was left feeling a bit bereft because of it. Everything happened so fast and there were big gaps in the storyline. I loved the story for the bit of nostalgia that it brought back but overall I wasn't overly happy with what we got.
